Athames
An Athame (or Atheme) is a blunt dagger used in ritual magic, it is used to focus and channel energy to or from the body depending on whether it is used to summon or banish. Its use is ceremonial tool & is commonly believed that the handle is either  a darkened wooden or has a black handle. It is your double sided blade that is used only for energy work like calling in the quadrants or casting of the circle.  However this is not a hard and fast rule, but it is important that the Athame is balanced well proportioned & in tune with its user.

Bolines
Bowlines are part of every Witches Magickal arsenal.  They are used to harvest herbs, inscribe on to candles & any other physical work a witch or magi may need to do.  It is therefore important that the blade be kept sharp so as to make a clean cut. Do not forget to ask permission before taking from a plant and than show you gratitude for the plants assistants by offering it a  gesture of thanks after.  A little food or drink is always will due nicely.   The handles are usually made of a white wood, but a white handle of any nature will do so long as it fits snugly & comfortably in your hand.  Let the Lord & Lady guide you in you decision making!
